At Treleigh we teach spelling using two programmes as a support. From EYFS to Year two we use Read, Write, Inc. to teach our children to spell accurately. In Year 2 all children access the Read, Write, Inc. Spelling programme and spelling lessons are taught for an hour, once a week.
From Years 3 - 6 children are taught spelling using the No Nonsense Spelling scheme. All children will access a daily 20 minute spelling session. Within both of these programmes specific reference is made to the statutory word lists which all children learn to spell.
Infant Spelling Bee
The results are in!! We are extremely proud of all of our Infant Spelling Bee year group champions for making it though to todays grand final. We are delighted to announce that this years trophy winner is Eden from Y2! Congratulations to her and a huge congratulations to all who took part and worked hard learning their spellings at home over these last few weeks.
KS2 Spelling Bee
We are incredibly proud of all four of our KS2 Spelling Bee finalists, for making it though to todays nail-biting conclusion. We are delighted to announce that this years champion is Harley from Y5! Congratulations to him and a huge congratulations to all who took part and worked hard learning their spellings at home over these last few weeks.
